
Shield Health and Social Care
Shield Health & Social Care provides the highest level of community -based services for vulnerable adults living in our local community. We provide both a CQC Registered Domiciliary Care Service and also a Recruitment service for adult care services across Leeds and within a 15 mile radius of Leeds. Over the years we have provided care support workers for residential homes, supported living services, mental health services, private services and direct to the service user.
The service/s have been established over ten years ago, by the Director Mrs Shelley Marie Gunn, with the sole purpose of providing local businesses and organisations with reliable, qualified workers that were competent and skilled within the specific sectors that they were specialised in.

Mrs Shelley Marie Gunn, Director of Shield Health and Social Care, has a continued passion for contributing to the community of Health and Social Care as she, herself has a background from the healthcare sector as she trained, qualified and worked within the MH, LD and Nursing sector for many years. With over twenty years of hands-on experience in various care settings, her immense knowledge and extensive work experience has contributed to the decision of developing the well-established Shield Health & Social Care.
The decision for the company development for Shield Health and Social Care, took the very best of four years in making. On the 20th of March 2019, Shield Health and Social Care was registered as a limited company. On the February 2025 both services merged to one company.

We provide care and support workers trained to meet your specific care needs.
All support workers have a detailed profile outlining all completed accredited training and enhanced DBS details.
We have a rolling programe on our recruitment of care / support workers and we can offer your service trained staff ready for shift cover. Which can be arranged over a temp to perm basis or with an agreed start date. We will ensure you have the right person for the position. If you require any details we can provide candidates CV and profile which outlines DBS and valid CPD training.
We carry out your advertising for the position/s required, undertake the interviews, carry out DBS applications and ensure candidates are fully training at a level to meet your service and service user needs.

We are open 24 hours day, 365 days each year for both service users and to support our care team.

We are a needs led service and always welcome change and development for the services that will continue to improve and maintain a high standard of care and support being delivered.
Our Team
The nominated individual, Registered Manager, Mrs Shelley Marie Gunn, and the Service Manager, Ms. Theresa Burns. With over 45 years of health and social care experience in various care sectors collectively lead our care team alongside the office team. We have a dedicated Recruitment Consultant Ms Bethany Barker with over 9 years experience in care, who can discuss your requirements and set up what you are looking for to meet your service needs.
